Steel & grit physical therapy
GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER & OUT OF PAIN
Lost it as quickly as it came.
You tried physical therapy and it didn’t work. You tried a fitness program and nothing sticks.
I’m not going to make it light and say that it wasn’t partly due to your nonadherent tendency, because it might have been. But, it also may have been due to poor programming, inappropriate movement selections, making you do things you didn’t enjoy or that didn't pertain to your goals. It may have also been due to poor coaching, not understanding and meeting you where you were to provide you the appropriate prescription, education on mindset, habits, and lifestyles—all the factors that will inherently affect your outcomes. So you quit trying and settle.
You’re told you must stop doing XYZ if you want to keep your pain in check. You've lost all hopes and settled for the bare minimum.
...
Sounds familiar?
...
Giving up on your favorite activities because of your knee pain? Surgeries are your solutions? Lifelong reliance on pain medication and cortisol shots?
Trust me when I say that a large number of you do not need to seek surgeries as the ultimate solution, nor coming to term with living in pain. Oh, the amount of time I hear “I’m ABC years old. It’s normal to be in pain”. Chronic pain is common, yes, but not normal. What you need is a systemic, effective, actionable step-by-step rehab, coaching and support that are tailored to you—your need, your lifestyle, your goals, to meet you where you’re at and work with you to get you to where you want to be.
movement is not temporary. movement is for life. so, learn to move well.
Steel & grit physical therapy
hi, friends
My name is Chloe, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, a heavy lifting fan, a calisthenics enthusiast, a handstand-is-my-life type of girl, you get the gist.I’m here to tell you that you shouldn't settle for shit. You don’t settle for a mediocre life with limited ability to move. I want you to keep moving, fitness-ing, lifting, running, jumping well into your last breath and some more. I want you to choose movement first, movement with good quality, movement for life. We’re going to give surgeries, pain medications, walkers, canes a run for their money (they have their time and place, I’m not going to be irresponsible by disregarding them, but our goal is to not ever have to rely on them, okay?).I want to change our current norms surrounding pain and rehab. I want you to succeed, and I damn sure want to help you get to your physical goals, whether that is to look good, feel good, move well, or stay in training, or limit injuries, or all of the above. My approach is simple: solid exercise programming that takes into consideration everything—your muscle strength imbalances, your mobility deficits, your daily duties, routines, your habits, your preferences, your goals! There’s no such thing as “rehab exercises”. But there is an art in exercise selection & prescription that can benefit you, depending on your pain, injury, as well as overall physical goal, and I hope to be the one you are entrusting your biggest asset that is your body.My goal is to make it simple, so simple that you feel stupid not to do it.
Look good, feel good, move well. You don’t have to pick one. Have it all.

Too often I find programs lacking appropriate considerations for a well-thought-out selection of accessory movements. These movements should serve a bigger purpose than supporting the "big lifts". They should be utilized to address muscle strength imbalances, mobility deficits, balance optimization, joint stability, as well as tissue longevity and health.Along with ineffective programming, I have also seen how pain has been poorly managed and addressed. Pain is complex and has its own branch of scientific research for a reason. And it is short-sighted to treat your pain and injury without looking at your life as a whole: your work duties, your daily routines, your habits, and so many other aspects of your life that can and will influence your recovery. And it is even more short-sighted to think that doing the same set of exercises from day one, with the same volume, with no progressions, with nothing addressing your overall movements quality (not just your injury site) will get you to your ultimate performance goal. And I'm not talking about just getting out of pain. Your goal isn't just to not have pain. Your goal is to get back to snowboarding, to run a marathon or a 10K, to get back to lifting heavy shit, to attend your Crossfit classes, or to lose weight. You want to look good, feel good, and move damn well.
Knowing that, a single session per week isn't going to cut it, where you have to wait until the next session to get support, feedback, or answers to your question. You will need support and adjustments to your program immediately if you happen to have a flare-up. You will need appropriate check-ins and encouragement to get you out of a mental rut. You will need someone that will listen and is obsessed with your success as you are.You will need time, round-the-clock support, and accountability on the daily basis, realistic milestones planning, and effective programming that takes into considerations all aspects of you.Carbon Class Cohort is a 3-month cohort that will give you what you need and get you to your goal. The average in-person, traditional, cash-based PT services is $200 per visit. Many patients often have to deal with unexpected flare-ups during the time between visits, where you get little to no support. What do you do when you have questions about your program? How often should it be updated? If you don't feel great, what can you do? So, you're paying a good amount of money for limited support to fully achieve your potential in a reasonable amount of time.
Those questions will not be your problems anymore when working with us. We are obsessed with the quality of our delivery, your success, and therefore, you can expect us to be available for your questions on the daily basis. The basics of what you can expect include:

Steel & grit physical therapy
This is not for you if you...
Want some “magic” program or method to get to your physical goals
Aren’t curious, intrinsically driven, and passionate about the science of the body
Don’t trust the process
Aren't willing to put in the time and work
Don’t think your body and movement freedom are worth the investment
Would rather find the "next best" modalities: cold plunge, diet fads, machines, gear, fitness gadgets, supplements, medications, etc.
